Optimizing EA for current day (today)

I have question regarding optimizing EA in MT4 strategy tester for current day. Is it possible to be done?
How I can download today's ticks?
I'm asking this because when I try to optimize my EA, the latest possible testing dates are from yesterday to today (ending at 00:00 between yesterday and today) where i'm receiving any results. If if try to set starting and ending day at today / current day no optimization is done (i'm not receiving any results).
Please let me know if it's possible.
Thanks.Wouldn't the sample for optimizing that way be too small for anything reliable?
