Requesting a CCI indicator modification

Hi All,

I'm brand spanking new to these forums and have been loving the advanced + elite sections.

This is my first request here and hoping it's actually doable.

I have a setup using the regular CCI that comes with mt4 in the same window as the PriceTrender2 indicator found on these forums. What I would like is to have a non repainting version of CCI that can also use the previous windows data.

Also I've found that as time goes by the signal gets 'messy' like here:

But if I refresh the indicator by selecting a different time frame it gets 'sharp' like here:

So my request is this:

  1. A CCI indicator that can use the previous and first indicator window data
  2. A CCI indicator that does not get messy over time like in the first window, but just pules when it goes over or below 100/ -100 (like in the second image)
  3. A CCI indicator that does not repaint
  4. A CCI indicator that does not need to be refreshed like how i described.

Really hoping someone can help.

Thanks!

1. What does "previous windows data" mean?

2. What does "previous and first indicator window data" mean?

3. I see 4 values drawn there,. What are the 4 values drawn

PS: did you see this post : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/general

or this one : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/general

PPS: on the ""mtf & nrp" if you want the lines for a higher time frame to be horizontal, set the "Interpolate" parameter to false

Hi mLaden!

Thanks for the fast response... I'll try to answer the questions you asked here.

1. Previous data window what I meant was "Previous Indicator's Data" option for 'Apply to:' for the CCI indicator. I've basically dragged the CCI indicator on top of the PriceTrender 2 indicator found here: https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/general and used the Previous indicator's data option for the CCI

2. Same thing as the first there is also the option of using the First indicators data

3. the 4 lines: Yellow, blue, and green is from the Price Trender indicator ---- and the Purple like is the CCI indicator i've plugged into the PriceTrender2 window

I'm going to review the links you've posted here now, again thanks for the quick reply!

"Previous indicator data" is not possible for custom indicators in metatrader 4, sorry.

That is an old problem and it never has been enabled or solved for custom indicator (only built in indicators in metatrader 4 have that option, once we make a code and compile it they become "custom" indicators and that option is lost - user can make only "custom" indicators in metatrader 4)

As of the no-repainting : both those link contain non-repainting CCI indicator (custom CCI indicators which means that they can not have a previous indicator data is not available for them) but they do not repaint (that is 100% sure) and you will not have to change time frames or symbols back and forth to get correct values

Darn,

but thanks for enlighting me on this, two more questions:

Your graphics usually has a clock indicator called "eclock" but I can never find it when doing a search on here can you link it for me?

Do you know of any price action indicators that do not repaint?

Thanks again!

Hi Jacobsren,

The clock is actually an Ea posted here

https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/general

ps) this version of price trender should refresh properly, and you have a choice of 18 different averages.

Awesome thank you guys!

Having trouble getting eCock to work correctly. I have it in the expert folder but this is what I see using it:

Seems only the candle count down is working... any thoughts on why?

Thanks!
