There is a good-old 1% rule (never risk more than 1%) but it seems that people often forget about it

Dominator4fx:
With High Lot size the risks also gets compounded. This is why you must understand always as using small lots to remain safe as markets will favor no one and at any time they can change trends.

Yes you are right and this is also because they get to use High leverage and what caused the USA to limit the maximum leverage at 1:50

There is no such thing as max lots on the market. There is a max lots allowed by your broker in 1 order. If you placed an open order to fill long 1000 lots into the market, all it will do is go into the market and hit all of the sell orders...and the prices will tick up as the orders are filled and exhausted.

If you want to buy 1000 lots at 1.000. Well, there are only 500 lots at 1.000, then another 200 lots at 1.001, and 300 lots at 1.005. Then you will basically buy all of that at those prices, and not all at 1.000 unless it is a limit order, then your order will just sit on the open market until the market moves down and enough volume takes out your order.

The lots limited by your broker in 1 order is probably just for their safety in case the user is an idiot, and doesn't understand how order entry works and the leverage it implies. If you need to buy 100 lots with your broker, and it limited 50 lots per order. Then you just open 2 order of 50 lots. Trust me, if you are trading this kind of size, you will be monitoring it 24/7 and adding the lots necessary to even meet these martingale strategy.

In reality, there is no max lots for the market, it is just what price you want to pay to fill those lots.

But this shouldn't even be a concern because you will never encounter this problem because we all know that MT4 backtest is not reality. You should probably call your broker to find out about the margin call limit.

First of all trading in the Big Lots is always risky no matter how much is the capital with us and what is the trading strategy implied.

This is because most of the times the markets may seem to be out of control even at times when we are so sure about it.
