hi
I've been trading for awhile and wanted to know how your trading station is set up.
How many monitors?
Computer specs?
Time spent trading?
Etc.
For those who trade using EAs, what operating system are you using (Windows, Linux, etc.)?only 1 monitor
Intel P4 2,7
only 4-6 hours depenf on signal generated...
===================
commodore64 with cassette tape
DuoCore3.0
1GB ram
16" Eizo Super Bright LCD
Windows XP Home
Pentium4 3.0HT
1GB ram
17" HP LCD
25" Digital TV
Windows XP Pro
Celeron D 2.26
256mb RAM
17" CRT
Windows 2000
Almost 24 hours in the trading room. Split my time with watching TV series, downloading porn, have some whisky while coding EAs & indicators, chatting with hot chicks over messenger, sleep, changing dauther's nappy, McDonald's delivery... What else? Trading? Prolly spent about an hour in total everyday
Regards
David
p/s: and prolly an hour or 2 for reading TSD. one of my favorite bit of the day
the best you rock
Wow, not quite as extravagant as I thought. Anyway, I'm thinking of starting live before the month's end. Any recommendations for my setup? I do plan to trade manually and after the account doubles, split the balance to open a new account and use that to run the EA. Rinse and repeat each time.
My manual demo trading setup is
AMD Athlon 2200XP
1GB Ram
480GB HD space
DVD-DL
2 CRT screens: 19" and 17"
The screens use my MACD-based indicator (different variables), zigzag, and murrey math lines for two sets of time frames.
I have a number of used/thrown out laptops which still work but are between 2.0GHz and 700MHz Still usable based on recommended specs for metatrader, which will be running completely on Linux and have a remote desktop connection to my manual trading PC when I want to check up on the account, or tweak the code, or something.
Do you think that's enough for me to get started?
what ea exactly.
I think it is enough to trade.
I have only one PC and laptop

Do you think that's enough for me to get started?Mostly gap-based EAs, along with another EA I developed when I first "re-dove" into forex.
