I've been trying for days to download historical data for four majors (EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCHF, USDJPY) from the alpari databank (http://databank.alpari.org) and can NOT get a clean download. Download speeds are only around 20-30 BYTES per second...WHEN it actually downloads. Even download managers can't make this thing fly.
Does anybody have another source for these files? Backtesting in MT4 sucks without adequate history.
Many thanks in advance to anybody that can help,
ScottPlease send me your email. I will send all the data.
Try this link first. Let me know if this link works...
Yes, that's the link I've been using (and failing). The files themselves are actually on databank.alpari.org...sorry for the confusion.
You can send the files to scott_stillwell2000 [at] yahoo [dot] com.
You rock!

JoZo, did you use the period converter script once you got the data?

Yes, I converted to all TF.
Why?
Yes, I converted to all TF. Why?
There was a question in another thread, and I was wondering the same... How did you know when the converted is completed? On one hand, i can see in the experts tab that is has writen (x) new bars. On the other, the journal tab says it is adding new bars, sometimes 2 at a time. My task manager shows my cpu useage at 100%.

Really good question. I saw (X) bars added. Then I checked in the OFFLINE CHARTS to see how many bars I have....
Let me know if you have a good answer.
Thanks
