how can we calculate Variation of the day before(%)

Kindly need your suggestion.

1.)   100 / ( Old_value / New_value ) /* new percent from the change of the older value */

2.)  -100 /* price change as expression part of the older price, or as percent from value 100 */

example: 220 was old price , 242 was next , 

1.) would be 110 (%)

2.) would be 10 (%)
