As far as I'm aware, all brokers only offer floating spreads these days - this gives them the ability to widen the spreads (often considerably) when there's short term market volatility (e.g. market news). If you use tight stops, these spread widenings can often take out your position, without the market having really moved at all. That's why I only use MT5 data these days for backtesting/optimisation - it includes the maximum spread for each time period.
