How to pause meta trader 4?

Hi all,

I've been searching the internet for an hour now to try to figure out how to pause meta trader 4.

I ready stuff about coding things but that's beyond me.

What would the simplest way be to be able to video say the data of the previous 24 hours as M1 so I can see if the strategy I've mapped out is working. I've watched the market and I see my strategy moving forward but I want to go back now and see if it has been working for the last day or two also but each time I scroll back and there is a movement meta trader snaps back to the current time point.

I'm new to met trader so I hope this is not a stupid question!
