Yes, and no! The slippage/deviation parameter only works on accounts with Instant Execution Policy, but not on Market Execution Policy. So, the EA, has to do extra monitoring to reduce the probability of negative slippage.

It is, however, important to note that it cannot always prevent negative slippage every time, but it does improve the conditions in favour of positive slippage.

It seems that the Execution Policy of the account has also an effect on limit orders (buy limit, sell limit), am I right? According to the reply I got from my broker, negative slippage is normal when buy/sell limit orders are triggered and these are "executed and filled by market execution at the next available price". Therefore, the order can be filled at the next available price even if this means a huge negative slippage.

I thought that buy/sell limit orders are guaranteed to be filled at the right price or a better one... I guess I was wrong
