You can place main calculations into the dll in order to protect them. However dll is also not 100% secure as it can also be reversed.
What is the most secure solution then?
If you are talking about user security, then every solution using DLLs breaks borders of terminal sandbox. It is very insecure for a user and I would expect some independent review or a trustful developer to carry over it.
If you are talking about protection of code from being misused, then involving DLL may increase its protection, as far as it is not efficient to restore its source.
But asking what language to use for building the DLL is irrelevant. Use the one that suits you most.
