Phi.nuts, you are correct in your first response. I apologize, I dismissed it. I finally installed in a different dir and it worked. I think Window7 prevents access to program dirs like c:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86)

Back to the drawing board. It wasn't the location that was the problem. I finally tracked it down to a conflicting process. If soffice.exe is running and UAC is on, DDE does not work.
Configuration:
Windows7 64
Excel 2010 64
MT4 32
I don't know about other configs. To make DDE work, sofice has to be given admin privileges or removed.
Yes. It was installed by Lotus Symphony on my system before I upgraded to Excel 2010 and some Windows Update that's difficult to track. It's working now so happy again.
