Hi Tatyana,
tried with freshly downloaded setups from Pepperstone, Divisa Capital, FXDD and PFGBest and older setups (i already had on my hard drive but not too old) from LCG and BroCo.
Servers offered:
Pepperstone: „Pepperstone-Demo-US“Divisa: „Divisafx-Demo“
FXDD: „FXDDMalta MT4 Demo Server 2“
PFGBest: „PFGDemo“
BroCo: „BroCo-Demo“
LCG: „LondonCapitalGroup-Demo“
I have a live account with GoMarkets and this was the only MT4 installation I had on my PC.. No problems with new demo there!
Now I downloaded a setup from Metaquotes, a small mt4setup.exe (just 450kB size).. server offered: GoMarkets.. of course it works!!
The six above still don’t (i needed live quotes for software development and GoMarkets was off until 7:00gmt).Sorry if I’m wrong, but when I try 6 random brokers and 6 don’t work, it’s hard to take it as a pure coincidence..
Many thanks for your reply,
MJ
EDIT: FXDD is working - my bad, used an old setup. Tried FinFX now, it's ok too.
But try the following ones:
http://files.brocompany.com/soft/bc4/bc4setup_trade.exe
http://www.divisafx.com/files/MT4-Divisa.exe
http://pepperstone.com/open-account/demo-download-3.php
they must have something wrong, but now I admit it's not a general bug, I apologize!!

From 01.01.2012, it's not possible to open a demo account after a fresh installation of the MT4 Client Terminal.
It's the same with every broker I tried.
It works if you log on to an existing account first.
Apparently it's some date-related issue, server side.
Thanks for fixing it.
