How to draw a 2d map ?!?

Hi everybody, this is my first post !!
I'm trying to draw an indicator that is a 2D map (similar to a wavelet spectrum), not a single function.

could be done trough drawing a lot of rectangles.. sorry, i think no other solution is possible...
