Beginner to MetaTrader: Can I trade futures?!

Hi,

I've been using <Deleted> for sometime now.

I think it is good, BUT, I want to backtest a strategy that uses loops in the code,
and believe it or not, but you can't write loops using <Deleted> language!

So, I started looking for other backtesting software, preferably for free, I found and downloaded MetaTrader4.

The problem with MetaTrader4, is that I can't find out how to get charts for futures.
Its only got FX. However on the Metaquote website it says it is suitable for Futures ?
Anyone know how I can get future data and free charts to backtest on?

Who makes MetaTrader? Is it made by Metaquotes? Or are they just a broker that give away MetaTrader4 for free?
Does the chart data come from Metaquotes?
I'm can't find much info on the net.
Many thanks for reading this, have a good weekend.

P.s. I attached a screenshot of the Platform Im looking at. Why only FX?!

Metaquotes made MetaTrader, MetaTrader is software production only.

any other like brokers can rent MetaTrader system for itself's using . user receive MetaTrader from brokers. trades and trade data from brokers' server or those can supply data.

Metaquotes can supplied some forex data for test and demo, but no futures data.

you should ask where you open your account for data and trade needing.

MetaTrader only is a software,

for example, you can have a pen, but what you want do with pen is not the things of the factory made pen.

No. You misunderstood. Use google to look for, e.g. http://www.google.ru/search?q=metatrader+futures+broker&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
