ATC 2008 - EA Testing for qualification

Please, let us give more details on how EAs will be tested to qualify.

Are the tasts made via the MT4 Tester? Will the checkup IsTesting() will return true during the tests the jury will make?

What exactly an EA must show to be let take part of the championship?

See article Automated Trading Championship: The Reverse of the Medal

This is why all EAs that consume CPU resources uneconomically were and will be excluded from the contest. At the stage of Registration, we are going to detect such incorrectly written Expert Advisors providing certain test time limitations in the eight-month interval in the "Every tick" mode. If the EA's testing time exceeds 5 minutes, this EA will not be allowed to participate in the contest.

Ok many thanks,

i understand that the EAs will be tested via the Tester on "Every tick" mode and the testing time shoud not exceeds 5 minutes.

No more conditions like for instance numm of trades, total profit or etc. Correct?

See Rules:

  1. Experts can contain limitations to be used outside the Championship, but they must:
    • work normally and be tested on the whole interval of year 2008 (for portfolio strategies no history testing is necessary, a simple description will be enough)
    • work normally in accounts numbered from 600 000 to 650 000
    • work normally with demo accounts opened on the server of demo.metaquotes.net:443
    • never use scalping: if the profits in 25% of trades made by the end of the contest are detected to range within the spread, the Participant will be disqualified
    • make at least 5 conscious trades within the first 8 backtesting months (2008.01.01-2008.08.01) and within 3 months of the contest
    • properly consider symbol settings without rigidly specified parameters (limitations on lots, spreads, minimal deviation from the market price, etc.)
    • never contain any critical bugs (like looping or hanging up, etc.) or explicitly harmful actions in the code
    • be economical with the use of resources on the processor and PC memory
  2. If the Expert Advisor's behavior during preliminary testing essentially differs from that during the Championship, it will result in disqualification of the Expert Advisor.
