Most important hardware when backtesting

If i want to backtest faster. What shall i spend my money on
-ssd harddrive?
-memory ram?

Or semothing else?

No idea about backtesting (as it should be fast in anyway) but as to optimization - use Cloud. It is cheaper and faster.

If it is really back testing not optimization, you can do this:

1. Install meta trader on ramdisk <------ That will make history collection as fast as possible.

2. Get CPU who is most productive per core. (On single back test your system will use only one core) You could probably over-clock it, but be sure about OC risks, before you do that.
