Beta Testing of Video Functions of the Website

A simple video below demonstrates the video-archive function:

How a reel should be prepared and uploaded:

  1. The reel itself was made using the Camtasia program (the details follow)
  2. The facing page and the sound-track were added in the same application
  3. A video reel in the AVI format was made using TechSmith Screen Capture Codec (developer of Camtasia)
  4. The obtained AVI file was uploaded using our website standard editor:

  5. This resulted in that, instead of the reel, its empty image had been inserted in the editor:

  6. After the message has been saved, a text informing that the video is being converted will be shown instead of the reel itself:

  7. In 3 minutes, after the repeated viewing of the message, the complete reel could be seen

Why have we opened such a service? Well, there are YouTube, RuTube, Google Video and many other services available where one can publish video materials.

It’s very easy – services like YouTube are aimed at low-quality video with forced scaling to the standard size of 425x350 pixels. One can view videos at such a resolution, but hardly see what there is shown there. For example, we uploaded the same reel on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuZgzoVdIb0). Let’s compare frames from the middle part of the reel:

MQL4 video(file 1.7 Mb)

YouTube video (file 1.1 Mb)

In the first frame, the program interface is visible to the last detail. In the second one, we can only state that the image “looks like MetaTrader”.

Our video service is, first of all, developed to teach traders and provide them with high-quality video materials. All reels remain in their original resolutions, but they must be recoded into the FLV format using VP6 codec that allows excellent quality at the minimum file size.

Video reels can be inserted anywhere on the website: forum, articles, comments.
