Piertobia Laporta / Profil

I am Piertobia Laporta, originally educated as a biomedical engineer, with a degree from the Politecnico di Milano.
I am currently working at Sintropy.ai, where I serve as Chief Operating Officer and founder. We develop IoT solutions, building hardware in-house and developing custom software for private clients.

In parallel, I also develop algorithms for financial markets, primarily using Python and MQL5 as programming environments.

I have been a trader since 2019, having pursued my studies independently.
I began with discretionary trading, developing intraday trading methods based on price action, risk management, and trade management.

Since 2022, I decided to merge the worlds of engineering and finance.
I developed a Python-based software for backtesting strategies written in Python, as there was no commercial tool suitable for such purposes.

However, I eventually chose to tackle the core issue directly by starting to write software in MQL5.
My main focus with MQL5 has been the development of systems capable of withstanding high drawdowns and unpredictable market conditions.

All other systems developed—such as those based on fixed or variable risk-reward ratios, latency arbitrage systems, etc.—are not discussed on this channel, as they are not considered commercially viable due to the high level of tuning required.
