It doesn't always recognize a demo account. If I load the indicator on a demo account it still assumes a live account. If I restart MT4 it will work until I try to make any changes to the parameters.

Try to get a last build of the terminal. Maybe it's a reason. If you already have demo version on your computer you can even test it on strategy tester and it's doesn't matter is your account live or not. Just start any EA in strategy tester (but without any deals) and put indicator on chart when test is running.
this is the best ive ever come across plus with understanding on bill williams indicators.....make everything real simple because you only confirm if its the right signal or not........but i wonder if yu will have it on mt5 or not
