Grid DeMarker EA: ATR-Spaced Dual Grid and Fragment-Closing MT5 Expert Advisor
Unlike grid systems that enter the market blindly, Grid DeMarker EA v3.10 times every new cycle with a tuned DeMarker oscillator filter and adapts its level spacing to volatility with ATR. A margin-aware dual-grid engine with partial closes keeps the book light, and an optional hedge cycle adds trading volume when you want it.
Test it yourself first. Download the free demo and run Grid DeMarker EA in the MT5 Strategy Tester on any symbol and timeframe you trade. Watch every level, every partial close and every banked profit before you risk a cent.

Why traders pick this grid EA
Most grid robots open their first order at a random moment and then hope the market comes back. Grid DeMarker EA waits. A tuned DeMarker oscillator filter decides when a new cycle is allowed to start, so the grid begins at moments of stretched price exhaustion instead of in the middle of nowhere. Once the cycle is running, a fragment-closing engine banks small, steady profits by pairing your oldest and newest orders, so the book keeps shrinking while the account keeps growing.
- Oscillator-timed entries: the grid starts only when the DeMarker filter agrees, never on every tick.
- Dual grid: buy and sell ladders run independently, each with its own plan and profit target.
- ATR-adaptive spacing: levels widen in fast markets and tighten in quiet ones, automatically.
- Fragment and slice closing: profit is banked by closing combinations of orders, including partial slices of the oldest order.
- No stop loss, no forced close-all: protection works by blocking new levels, never by locking in a loss.
- Margin-aware: every new level is checked against your real free margin before it is sent, on hedging and netting accounts.
- Optional hedge cycle volume engine for IB and rebate traders.
- Clean "water-strider" control panel on the left of the chart: live DeMarker value with an OVERSOLD / NEUTRAL / OVERBOUGHT zone tag, banked profit, book, plan lines and order table. Nothing is drawn on the right side, so price stays readable.
- Signal arrows on the candles show exactly where each cycle was armed.
How to use it in five minutes
- Attach Grid DeMarker EA to one chart (EURUSD H1 is a calm place to begin; XAUUSD works too with a larger balance).
- Allow Algo Trading. The default inputs are ready to run; start with InitialLotSize 0.01.
- If you want to observe first, set RunMode to Scan only: the EA plans everything and shows it on the panel without sending orders. Press ARMED on the panel when you are comfortable.
- Use the panel buttons: ARMED / SCAN ONLY, PAUSE / RESUME, MARKS ON / OFF and CUT ON / OFF. CLOSE PLAN executes the shown plan for a side immediately.
- Run it on a VPS so the cycle is never interrupted. One magic number per chart.
Every input explained
Grid - how levels are opened. TradeMode chooses dual grid or one side. GridSpacePoints is the fixed distance between levels when ATR spacing is off; GridSpaceMultiplier widens each next level (1.0 = equal). MaxGridLevels caps the levels per grid and MaxTotalOrders caps the orders per side. UpDirectionIsBuy decides which side an up move arms. EAMagicNumber and GridOrderComment identify the orders. OneOrderPerBar allows at most one new level per bar.
Lot ladder. InitialLotSize is the first lot. LotSizingMode picks additive (add LotAddStep each level) or multiply (LotMultiplier each level). MaxOrderVolume is the largest lot any single order may use. UseAutoLot scales the start lot with your balance against AutoLotBaseBalance; AutoLotAllowDecrease lets it scale down as well.
ATR spacing. GridSpacingMode switches between fixed and ATR spacing. ATRTimeframe, ATRPeriod, ATRSpacingFactor and ATRBarShift define the ATR used. ATRMinSpacingPts and ATRMaxSpacingPts are the floor and the cap of the spacing. ATRFreezeOnStart keeps one spacing for the whole cycle.
Profit target. DesiredProfitPerClosure is the base money banked per closure; ProfitMultiplier scales it. ProfitTargetMode chooses a fixed or a scaled target; in scaled mode ProfitVolumePower, ProfitDepthBonus, ProfitMaxMultiple and ProfitMaxReachFraction shape how the target grows with volume and depth and keep it reachable within one grid step.
Fragment scanner. UseMultiLegScan looks for multi-order closures before the plain pair. MaxOldestLegs and MaxNewestLegs limit how many orders join one closure. ScanPriority ranks the candidates. NeverBankLessThanPair, RequireCloseVolumeExceedsTarget and MinCloseVolumeRatio keep every closure meaningful.
Target slicing. EnableTargetSlicing lets the EA close a part of the oldest order when the whole lot is out of reach. FragProfitWeightPower, FragMinSlicePercent, FragAllowMultiCloser and FragPreferFullClosure fine-tune those partial closes.
Reopen guard. ReopenGuard and ReopenGuardCushion stop a closure that would make the grid reopen the same level immediately.
Account protection. MinMarginLevelPercent blocks new levels below a margin level; MaxAccountRiskPercent blocks them above a floating loss percent of balance (0 = off). NetMaxMarginPercent caps the margin of the net position on netting accounts. These inputs only block new levels; they never close your trades at a loss.
Execution and verification. RunMode (Armed or Scan only), CloseSequence, MaxSlippagePoints, MaxSpreadPoints, MinSecondsBetweenClosures, CloseAttemptsPerLeg, VerifyTimeoutSeconds, DeferWhenMarketClosed, MarketClosedRetrySeconds, AutoResumeAfterSeconds, AbortIfBookChanged, UseFullCommission, CommissionPerLot and CloseOrderComment control how every closing leg is sent, verified and retried, so nothing is left half-closed.
Hedge cycle. EnableHedgeCycle turns on the optional volume engine. HedgeSymbols, HedgeSymbolRotation and HedgeMaxSymbolsInTester choose the symbols; HedgeCycleLots and HedgeSliceLots size it; HedgeFragmentBonus, HedgeBonusIsPercent, HedgeMaxSurcharge and HedgeMaxSurchargePercent decide what it adds to grid closures; HedgeMagicNumber, HedgeReopenOnFinish, HedgeStartRequiresTrade, HedgeIntegritySeconds, HedgeAutoRepair, HedgeNakedAction, HedgeMaxSpreadPoints, HedgeSlippagePoints, HedgeAttemptsPerLeg, HedgeVerifyTimeout, HedgeCommissionPerLot and HedgeOrderComment keep both legs equal and safe. Leave it off if you do not need trading volume.
Weekly cash day. WeeklyCashDay, CashDayOfWeek and CashCutoffHour pause new cycles around your withdrawal day.
Panel and chart. ShowPanel, PanelX, PanelY, PanelFontSize, ShowArabic, ShowChartMarks and MaxTableRows control the on-chart display.
Entry trigger. EntryTriggerMode chooses what arms the first level. SignalBarShift picks the bar that is read, SignalBarsDelay is the minimum number of bars between two accepted signals (30 by default, which keeps the EA patient), SignalValidBars keeps a signal alive for a few bars, SignalAllowBuy and SignalAllowSell enable each side, and SignalReverse inverts the direction.
DeMarker signal. InpDemPeriod, InpDemTF, InpDemOversold and InpDemOverbought tune the oscillator filter to your symbol and timeframe. Optimise them in the Strategy Tester to suit your market.
Debug. DebugMode writes a detailed journal for checking every decision.
Good to know
Grid trading needs a well-funded account and patience. Start small, prefer a low-spread broker and a VPS, and always test your exact settings in the Strategy Tester first. Past results never guarantee future results.
