Objective:
Develop two separate indicators, MAE (Maximum Adverse Excursion) and MFE (Maximum Favorable Excursion), to enhance our grid trading strategy by monitoring and optimizing trade performance. These indicators should be configurable to operate on specific trading pairs or designated magic numbers.

Tasks:

  1. Develop MAE Indicator:

    • Functionality:
      • Track the maximum negative movement of each position before it is closed.
      • Allow users to specify and monitor only trades associated with a particular trading pair or magic number.
    • Statistical Parameters:
      • Calculate and report metrics such as the 90th percentile MAE for each selected trading pair or magic number.
      • Provide insights into how much positions typically move against us, aiding in setting appropriate stop-loss levels.

  2. Develop Adjusted MFE Indicator:

    • Functionality:
      • Monitor the highest price a trade reaches before the price returns to the entry point after closing.
      • Allow users to specify and monitor only trades associated with a particular trading pair or magic number.
      • Additional Feature:
        • If the price does not return to the entry price within a specified timeframe (X hours), automatically record the highest price achieved.
    • Purpose: Enable the setup of trailing stop-loss strategies to maximize profits by capturing favorable price movements.

  3. Integration and Usability:

    • Configurability:
      • Ensure both MAE and MFE indicators can be filtered and applied to specific trading pairs or designated magic numbers.
      • Provide user-friendly options within the trading platform to select the desired trading pair or magic number for each indicator.
    • Usability:
      • Ensure both indicators can be used independently within the trading platform.
      • Provide clear documentation on how to interpret the indicators and integrate them into existing trading strategies.




    • Conduct thorough testing to ensure accuracy in tracking and reporting for specific trading pairs and magic numbers.
    • Validate the indicators with historical trading data to confirm reliability and effectiveness in various market conditions.
    • Ensure that filtering by trading pair and magic number works seamlessly without impacting the performance of other trades.
