Average Bull vs Bear Candle Indicator

 

Overview

The Average Bull versus Bear Candle Indicator evaluates the average candle body range (Close - Open) for bullish candles (close > open) divided by the absolute average bear candle body (|Close – Open|) where Close – Open = negative value over a selected period. The absolute average bear candle divided by the average bull candle ratio is subtracted from the average bull/average bear candle ratio.

Input

Num_periods

User input for the number of previous candle bodies (periods) to average.

Variables

Avg_Bulls = Average of all bull candles for Num_periods (close – open > 0)

Avg_Bears = Absolute value of the average of all bear candles for Num_periods (close – open < 0). This value will always be positive due to using the absolute function applied to the average.

Calculation

(Avg_Bulls/Avg_Bears) – (Avg_Bears/Avg_Bulls)
