alejandro Burgos #: I have a question: En trailing Stop , Step value is distancia for current price? o distancia from order price? Thanks
Trailing Stop
Enable this option to automatically move the Stop Loss level following the price with a specified step. The trailing stop activates when the specified profit level is reached.
Level Sets the distance in points from the opening price at which the trailing stop is activated, and the Stop Loss level starts following the price.
Step Sets the step in points by which the Stop Loss level will move following the price after the trailing stop is activated. For example, a step of 5 means the SL will move every 5 points in the profitable direction.
Level = 500 points(Trailing Stop activates at 1.20500).
Step = 10 points(SL movement step).
Trailing Stop Activation:
Bidprice reaches 1.20500.
Trailing Stop is activated.
Stop Loss is set at1.20500 - 500 points = 1.20000.
Stop Loss Movement:
Bidprice rises to 1.20510.
New SL level:1.20510 - 500 points = 1.20010.
Since the difference between the new SL (1.20010) and current SL (1.20000) is10 points(Step), SL moves to 1.20010.
Bidprice rises to 1.20520.
New SL level:1.20520 - 500 points = 1.20020.
Difference between new SL (1.20020) and current SL (1.20010) is10 points, SL moves to 1.20020.
Price Reversal:
Bidprice falls to 1.20020.
Stop Loss is triggered, and the order closes at 1.20020.
Example 2: Sell Order
Initial Setup:
Opening price (POSITION_PRICE_OPEN): 1.20000.
Level = 500 points(Trailing Stop activates at 1.19500).
Step = 10 points(SL movement step).
Trailing Stop Activation:
Askprice reaches 1.19500.
Trailing Stop is activated.
Stop Loss is set at1.19500 + 500 points = 1.20000.
Stop Loss Movement:
Askprice falls to 1.19490.
New SL level:1.19490 + 500 points = 1.19990.
Since the difference between current SL (1.20000) and new SL (1.19990) is10 points(Step), SL moves to 1.19990.
Askprice falls to 1.19480.
New SL level:1.19480 + 500 points = 1.19980.
Difference between current SL (1.19990) and new SL (1.19980) is10 points, SL moves to 1.19980.
Price Reversal:
Askprice rises to 1.19980.
Stop Loss is triggered, and the order closes at 1.19980.
Answer to the User’s Question:
Question:"Step value is distancia for current price? o distancia from order price?"
Answer: TheStepvalue determines the distance the Stop Loss movesfrom the current price(Bid for BUY, Ask for SELL) after the Trailing Stop is activated. It isnotthe distance from the order price. Once the Trailing Stop is active, the SL will move in increments of theStepvalue as the price moves in your favor.
Enable this option to automatically move the Stop Loss level to the breakeven zone when the specified profit level is reached.
Level Sets the distance in points from the opening price at which the Stop Loss level will be moved to the breakeven zone.
Profit Sets the distance in points from the opening price at which the Stop Loss level will be adjusted to the breakeven zone when the profit level is reached.
Detailed examples (for 5-Digit Pricing)
Detailed Example of How "Breakeven" Works with Default Parameters:
Let’s assume you open aBuy orderat a price of1.20000with the following Breakeven settings:
Level = 400 points(distance from the opening price to activate the breakeven function).
Profit = 100 points(distance from the opening price where the Stop Loss will be moved to the breakeven zone).
Initial Setup:
Opening price: 1.20000.
Stop Loss (SL) is set at1.19500(500 points below the opening price, assuming this is your initial SL level).
Price Moves in Your Favor:
The price rises to1.20400. At this point, the profit is400 points(1.20400 - 1.20000), which equals theLevelparameter.
The Breakeven function is nowactivated.
Moving Stop Loss to Breakeven Zone:
The Stop Loss is moved to1.20000 + 100 points = 1.20100.
This ensures that if the price reverses, the position will be closed at1.20100, locking in a profit of100 points.
Price Reversal:
If the price starts to fall and reaches1.20100, the SL is triggered, and the order is closed at1.20100.
This ensures you lock in a profit of1.20100 - 1.20000 = 100 points.
Example for Sell Order:
Initial Setup:
Opening price: 1.20000.
Stop Loss (SL) is set at1.20500(500 points above the opening price, assuming this is your initial SL level).
Price Moves in Your Favor:
The price falls to1.19600. At this point, the profit is400 points(1.20000 - 1.19600), which equals theLevelparameter.
The Breakeven function is nowactivated.
Moving Stop Loss to Breakeven Zone:
The Stop Loss is moved to1.20000 - 100 points = 1.19900.
This ensures that if the price reverses, the position will be closed at1.19900, locking in a profit of100 points.
Price Reversal:
If the price starts to rise and reaches1.19900, the SL is triggered, and the order is closed at1.19900.
This ensures you lock in a profit of1.20000 - 1.19900 = 100 points.
Incredible and supports custom symbols, great tool. I would only add the ability to hide the buy/sell buttons. Thanks for your work.
Increíble y compatible con símbolos personalizados, gran herramienta. Solo añadiría la opción de ocultar los botones de compra/venta. Gracias por tu trabajo.
