The lot multiplier setting is what you are looking for. If that setting is equal to 1, the EA will work on minimum lot, if you set it to 10, the EA will work at ten times the minimum lot your broker allows.
Try ensuring that when you apply the EA on the gold market, you increase the lot multiple setting to the level you desire. Let me know if this doesn't improve your experience.
