BTCUSD Sniper v1.56 — Development & Improvement Summary
**BTCUSD Sniper v1.56** is the result of a structured development and optimization process that began with the original **`BTCUSD_Sniper_v1.mq5`**. The objective was to retain the EA's original indicator-free price-action concept while systematically improving trade selection, risk management, timing, consistency, and robustness.
The original strategy was broken into individual logical engines and optimized one section at a time rather than changing the entire system simultaneously. **Engine 1 – Impulse Detection** was refined to identify higher-quality momentum/pressure candles using optimized body pressure, body speed, close location, and historical body comparison. **Engine 2 – Multi-Timeframe Market Context** added and optimized M15 and H1 price-action context to prevent the EA from treating every impulse as equally significant. **Engine 3 – H1 Directional Protection** was refined to provide additional protection against unfavorable higher-timeframe market structure.
**Engine 4 – Live Entry Confirmation** was optimized around real-time tick behavior. Tick-window size, directional tick movement, reversal pressure, retracement depth, and tick speed were tested to improve the timing and quality of entries. This preserved the EA's fast, indicator-free approach while making entry confirmation more selective.
**Engine 5 – Trade Management** was optimized around the relationship between the detected impulse and the trade's stop loss, take profit, and break-even behavior. The final configuration uses a structural stop buffer, impulse-body-based profit target, and controlled break-even management designed to protect profitable positions without unnecessarily changing the original strategy concept.

A significant later improvement was the introduction of a **Friday entry restriction**. New trades are no longer opened on Fridays, while positions already open continue to be managed normally. In the historical test used during development, this configuration reduced the number of trades while improving several performance measures, although this historical comparison should not be treated as independent out-of-sample proof.
An **adaptive learning system** was also developed and tested. An early version allowed the learning model to filter trades, but testing showed that this removed too many profitable opportunities. Instead of forcing the learning system into live decision-making, it was redesigned as a **Shadow Learning system**. The current model observes every qualifying trade, learns sequentially from completed trades, generates confidence estimates, and performs confidence calibration and CSV analytics—but **has no authority to block or modify trades**. This preserves the proven mechanical strategy while allowing machine-learning information to be collected for future research.
