The final debate about Brexit hast started in th UK parliament and it looks like it's going to be a rough ride! The vote of parliament is on December 11th. The market is very unpredictable right now so i will not run the signal demonstration account anymore this year, since after the vote of parliament is christmas holiday. 



If you have a demo account feel free to let it run through the dabate and vote. If you are trading live I would advise you to do the same as I do, but in the end it is up to you.

For clarification about the setfiles: 

The 500 USD set file is the most aggressive! It doesn't matter if you start with a higher acccount balance because the EA then uses a multiple of 500 USD to calculate the first lotsize and the following lots. However, you can start with only 500 USD. 
Same principle is for the 1000 USD set. Here it requires a 1000 USD minimum deposit. 
The safest settings provided are the default settings of version 5.4, which require a deposit of $2000 USD. 

Above explained with examples: 
Deposit $ 500 USD   = Setting 500 = first Trade and increase of Lotsize on this basis (Grid Cycle)/= 0.01 lot 
Deposit $ 2000 USD = Setting 500 = 4x first Lotsize of example 1 ( 4 x 0.01 lot = 0.04 lot first trade) 
Deposit $ 1000 USD = Setting 500 = 2x first Lotsize of example 1 ( 2 x 0.01 lot = 0.02 lot first trade) 

So no matter what account balance you use: 

500       = most aggressive 
1000     = aggressive 
default = medium aggressive

if i'm planning to go live in 2019, when should i start?

BT the recommend 2000usd look great.

Personaly don't like the idea of 500usd since 2000usd is much safer, buyer can take the risk but migh effect the reputation of the EA

thank you! And good decision not to trade anymore in 2018.

You are absolutely right, that is why I recommend to deposit $ 2000 USD and use the default settings of Version 5.4

I have provided the setfiles 500 and 1000 only for those who know they are risky and are willing to take the risk. Especially the 500 set is very risky. 


As for your question when to start in 2019, Power Grid Bot starts to trade from January 5th automatically. However we have a special situation this time. On December 11th UK parliament decides about the Brexit Deal which could shake the markets. After that, there are the Christmas Holidays. So, depending on the outcome and market reaction, there could be an aftermath at the beginning of 2019, especially if May can't get her deal through parliament.

If the market looks normal, I will start the EA again in the second week of January.

The situation remains unclear. From my perspective now, I will wait till after this date before starting the EA again in 2019.

However there will be a second vote and probably more turbulent events till march 29th.

Hi there,


I decided to let the EA run without interruption from now on. I know it can handle newsevents well and after a bigger drawdown usually closes the basket at breakeven.

Other than that it continues to stack up small profits consistantly.

added parameter Trailing Stop and set to false by default. I found this gives better results in the long run. Also I changed MaxSpread to 30 points.

If you want to keep the old default settings of version 6.0, set Trailingstop to true and set MaxSpread to 15 points.

On March 12th there will be a statement from Theresa May if she might delay the Brexit  from March 29th to May 23rd. Possibly even to the end of the year 2019!

So we have 2 important dates. Maybe March 12th is even the most important for now. In general, to be on the safe(er) side, stop trading a week before and after such an event, to make sure there

are no open trades/or even a basket on that date or shortly after when we have erratic market movements.

I will probably just let the signal run through the events, I don't expect any new and shocking information, and most outcomes are already priced in.

The Demonstration Signal will stop trading today and not trade next week since there are no open trades and May’s highly anticipated speech on March 12th and following votes pose an unnecessary risk and threat, she made statements today, that put all options on the table, even a no-brexit.

Hi there, 

I hope you are doing well. Although we had chaos in the British parliament, PGB finished the week with a good profit. I recommend everyone to upgrade to the current version 6.1 if not yet done so.


By the way I found the answer to why many bad EAs are in the top of the rankings on mql5 and good EAs not necessarily. It has to do with the comments as far as I understand. There are EAs with no live history but only backtests up there simply because of comments. So look out so you don’t make wrong decisions, and of course I would be glad if you would post your feedback in the comment section ;-)
