No, the Magic Number is a filter parameter to trail stops only for positions with specific magic number. A magic number is the id assigned to trades opened by other expert advisors. If you do not use Supertrend Trailing Stop in conjunction with other EAs, you don't need to pay attention to this input parameter.

What exactly isn't working? Did you Enable Trailing after attaching the expert advisor to the chart?

Yes i enabled trailing. I am using my own settings for Supertrend, not default. I put the indicator on the chart to check, but it did not stop where the indicator line was. 

I read your reply to my review. I did not imagine it was not using virtual stoplosses. I do work with break even as well, so that would interfere with this, unless you added either a break-even function or everything was virtual stoploss, ie close at market as the EA monitors the price and indicator cross. I have not come across another ST SL EA or one that manages all orders across all pairs, so I am really interested to use your EA! It would be great if you choose Supertrend or Bars back (donchian type) for the EA too.

Is there a problem with cycles and CPU resources if using virtual sl / at market close? Would be interested to pay for such a utility. Thank you, sorry if my review is incorrect. If you could explain my misunderstanding, I will test again and change the review.

You seem to make some things which seem very useful but do not work as intuitively logical as expected. That seems rather strange.

What is your aim on here??

I must apologise if I came across as rude.

I have tried this again and I believe it IS working correctly. One just has to make sure that there is an initial stoploss (ISL) in place already, as the EA only adjusts the stoploss already in place.

I was actually looking for something lightweight and inexpensive that would work across multiple pairs and orders, and as so well produced as this, but which I could use in more complex situations with virtual/hidden SLs and BEs. However, if one is adaptable, as maybe I should be more so, it may be a better way of operating anyway and thus serve me much better than I imagined. Especially as I use it further.

~~The problems arose with me, because of the way Metaquotes handles the Market and Free items within the Marketplace, and not the fault of the developer. Although I was further confused because the products are also offered on Luca's website, and I believe they are different versions, since now I am actually using a version that I downloaded from his website. I wish the products were organised to be the same across MQL and his private website, or a clearer explanation of different versions workings.

I do appreciate he has offered without charge and may be taken up working on other things, whilst MQL makes changes to various aspects quite regularly!

Sorry for not updating the products regularly or responding to comments more often. I try to do it as often as possible.

The EA doesn't need an initial SL to work. It might not be updating SL when the current MODE_STOPLEVEL doesn't allow it to. There is also a bug due to which the EA doesn't normalize the SL price by TICK_SIZE, resulting in an invalid SL values for indices and similar instruments. But this shouldn't be an issue in normal Forex pairs.

First of all : GREAT TOOL!

But the EA would even be more greater :-) if you could add 2 more choices regarding the trailing function :

-  Only start trailing when the trade is in profit

-  Only start trailing when the supertrend is over break-even

Anyway I'm very satisfied with the EA!    Much appreciated!

I rarely make comments, but I have to say I have found that everything that Luca has made is outstanding. 

You can change this line from:

int SuperTrendShift=0;

to:

int SuperTrendShift=1;

in the source code and re-compile.

Where are instructions on how to use, and apply to a trade?
