Thanks for flagging this! I just tested the alerts on a 5 minute chart by changing time sessions, and the pop-up alerts are working fine on my end. Could you double check if your MetaTrader 4 alerts are enabled in the platform settings? Sometimes MT4 blocks alerts if notifications are turned off globally. Let me know what you find!

To really get why these breakout strategies use the specific time windows they do, it helps to line them up with the standard Forex market sessions. The big moves often happen when these sessions open or overlap. Let’s break it down.

Based on standard Forex market hours (in GMT), here is how the strategy sessions correlate:

Strategy Session (GMT) Correlates to Market Session (GMT) Key Overlap & Reasoning
London Opening Range (07:00 - 08:00) London Session (08:00 - 17:00) Captures the first hour of the London open, when liquidity and volatility surge.
New York Opening Range (13:00 - 14:00) New York Session (13:00 - 22:00) Captures the first hour of the New York open, often when London is still active (major overlap).
Tokyo/Midnight Range (00:00 - 01:00) Tokyo Session (00:00 - 09:00) Specifically targets the first hour of the Tokyo session open.

You must convert these GMT session times into your broker's server time before inputting them into the Expert Advisor (EA). For example, if your broker uses GMT+3, the "London Opening Range (07:00-08:00 GMT)" would be set in your EA as 10:00-11:00.

These strategies aren't random. They're built to exploit moments when a massive wave of new participants enters the market (a session open) or when two big waves combine (a session overlap). That's when you get the volume and momentum needed for a reliable breakout.
