AlgoTrade Loss Streak Guard

AlgoTrade Loss Streak Guard helps you take a break after losing trades. It monitors your closed trades and pauses trading according to your rules. A trade opened during a pause is closed immediately or only reported, depending on your settings.

The rules

  • A wait after every losing trade (5 minutes by default).
  • A longer pause after a specified number of losing trades in a row (3 losses and 1 hour by default). Each subsequent loss restarts the pause until a winning trade occurs.
  • An optional stop for the rest of the day after a specified number of losing trades in a day. You set the hour when the trading day begins.
  • A larger lot size on the same symbol shortly after a losing trade also violates the rules (within 1 hour by default).

The panel

  • The status: trading allowed, waiting after a loss, paused, or stopped for the day, along with the time when trading is permitted again.
  • Consecutive losing trades, losing trades today, and trades stopped today.
  • Recent closed trades with their results, plus the totals for today and the last 7 days.

Which trades count

  • By default, manual trades on all symbols: trades you open in the desktop, mobile, or web terminal. Trades opened by Expert Advisors are not affected.
  • You can also select all trades, or manual trades on the chart symbol only.

Please read

  • The guard never opens a trade. It closes only trades that violate your rules, and only trades opened after the utility was started. A trade detected more than 3 minutes after it opens (for example, after the computer was turned off) is only reported.
  • To close trades, Algo Trading must be enabled. With a read-only login, it can only send warnings.
  • Attach the utility to its own empty chart. The full-screen panel hides that chart and removes any indicators on that specific chart. The original chart colors return when you remove the guard. Set "Full-screen panel" to false to display a small box instead.
  • A pause is your own rule. The guard helps you follow it, but it cannot prevent you from changing the inputs or removing the utility.
  • If you have a question or would like a feature, please write in the comments on this page. Your reviews help us decide what to improve.
