You’re right — if the required trend conditions are not present, the EA may not open trades during backtesting. This is intentional and meant to avoid low-quality market phases.

• The exact symbol + timeframe I suggest for testing

• Clarification on the minimum conditions required for entries

I tested the EA on XAUUSD (Gold) using the M15 timeframe.
The Strategy Tester model was set to Every Tick, with a maximum spread of 160.

The backtest period was 6 months, and the EA still does not open any trades under these conditions.

Looking forward to your recommended preset and any adjustments you suggest so I can see proper activity in the tester.

I ran a test on XAUUSD using the M15 timeframe with Every Tick modelling and variable spread.
The example attached is from 11.11.25 – 29.12.25, where the EA opens and manages trades as expected.

To help identify why you’re seeing no activity, could you please share the .set file you’re currently using?
I’ll compare the settings and point out exactly what may be blocking entries in your test.

For transparency and reference, I also ran a full backtest using the same intended conditions:

Backtest summary (XAUUSD, M15)

• Period: 2025.01.01 → 2025.12.31

• Model: Every Tick (most precise)

• Spread: Variable

• Modeling quality: 99.90%

• Total trades: 64

• Net profit: +643.03 (from 10,000 initial deposit)

• Profit factor: 3.35

• Maximum drawdown: 1.74%

This preset reflects the EA’s design philosophy: strict filtering and selective, high-quality entries rather than high trade frequency.

Please load the preset and retest under the same conditions.
If you notice any differences (such as no activity), feel free to share:

1. a screenshot of the Inputs tab after loading the preset, and

2. your broker’s exact symbol name (e.g., XAUUSD / XAUUSD. / GOLD).
