## 📊 Strategy Foundation
### **Core Concept**
The DoubleTMA Signals strategy is built around two Triangular Moving Averages (TMAs) with different periods:
- **TMA Slow** (default: 200 periods) - Major trend identification- **TMA Fast** (default: 26 periods) - Signal line and minor trend detection
### **Key Principles**

### **TMA Slow Settings**

**Purpose**: The TMA Slow serves as the primary trend filter. A higher period provides more stable trend identification but with increased lag. The ATR-based bands create reversal zones where trend changes are more likely to occur.

### **TMA Fast Settings**
- **TMA Fast Period (Signal Line) (26)** - Signal line calculation period- **TMA Fast Slope Adjustment (26)** - Slope calculation lookback period (usually best to maintain the same period as the TMA Fast)- **TMA Fast Redraw (No)** - Redraw TMA to reduce lag (No by default = More accurate signals, Yes may cause signal repainting)- **Show TMA Fast Line (Yes)** - Display TMA Fast line on chart- **TMA Fast Trend threshold (0.0)** - Minimum slope for trend classification
**Purpose**: The TMA Fast acts as a signal line for timing entries and exits. Its shorter period makes it more responsive to price changes, generating signals when it changes direction relative to the major trend.

### **Extra Band Settings**

**Purpose**: Creates additional reversal zones beyond the core bands. Each multiplier creates bands at TMA Slow ± (ATR × Base Multiplier × Band Multiplier). Useful for position scaling and extreme reversal detection.

### **Slope Sensitivity Settings**
- **Fast Slope Neutral Band Epsilon (0.02)** - TMA Fast neutral zone threshold- **Slow Slope Neutral Band Epsilon (0.005)** - TMA Slow neutral zone threshold- **Use Hysteresis Thresholds (No)** - Enable different entry/exit thresholds- **Enter Trend Threshold (0.03)** - Threshold to enter trending state- **Exit to Neutral Threshold (0.015)** - Threshold to exit trending state
**Purpose**: Controls signal sensitivity and reduces noise. Larger epsilon values generate fewer but higher-quality signals. Hysteresis prevents rapid switching between trend states by using different thresholds for entering and maintaining trends.
**Key Information**:- **Larger epsilon values** = Fewer but higher-quality signals (less noise)- **Hysteresis** creates different thresholds for entering vs. exiting trend states- **Slope must exceed "Enter Trend Threshold"** to enter a trending state- **Slope needs to stay above/below "Exit to Neutral Threshold** to stay in a trend state. Less than threshold = Neutral

### **Main Entry Signal Settings**
- **Signal Confirmation Bars (1)** - Bars to wait for signal confirmation (0 = current bar, 1+ = bars to wait)- **Show Buy/Sell Entry Signals (Yes)** - Enable/disable all entry signals

#### **Signal Type 1 Parameters**

**Logic**: Price over/under Major Trend (TMA Slow) + Minor Trend Change (TMA Fast) + Major Trend (TMA Slow) Confluence- **Buy**: Price below TMA Slow, TMA Slow up/neutral, TMA Fast crosses from neutral → up- **Sell**: Price above TMA Slow, TMA Slow down/neutral, TMA Fast crosses from neutral → down

#### **Signal Type 2 Parameters**

#### **Signal Type 3 Parameters**
- **Type 3 Signals (High Probability Reversal) (Yes)** - Enable Type 3 signals- **Arrow Code for Buy Signal Type 3 (225**) - Arrow symbol for buy signals- **Arrow Code for Sell Signal Type 3 (226)** - Arrow symbol for sell signals- **Max Type 3 Signals Per Trend (1)** - Maximum signals per trend (0 = unlimited)
**Logic**: Higher Probability Reversal - Any Entry Signal + Exit Signal on Same Candle- Combines entry conditions from Type 1/2 with opposing exit signals on same candle- Indicates strong reversal momentum

#### **Signal Type 4 Parameters**
- **Type 4 Signals (Price/TMA Slow Crossover) (No)** - Enable Type 4 signals (disabled by default to reduce noise)- **Arrow Code for Buy Signal Type 4 (170)** - Arrow symbol for buy signals- **Arrow Code for Sell Signal Type 4 (170)** - Arrow symbol for sell signals- **Max Type 4 Signals Per Trend (1)** - Maximum signals per trend (0 = unlimited)

### **Minor Trend Change/Exit Signal Settings**

**Purpose**: Price closes above/below TMA Slow + Minor Trend (TMA Fast) Change Confirmation - Useful for exit signals. Detects when the minor trend (TMA Fast) reverses, signaling position exits or counter-trend opportunities. Cooldown prevents signal spam in choppy markets.

### **Notification Settings**

### **Heikin Ashi Settings**
- **Show Heikin Ashi Candles (Yes)** - Display Heikin Ashi candles
**Purpose**: Overlays smoother Heikin Ashi candles on the regular price chart. Helps visualize trend direction with reduced noise.

### **Debug Settings**
- **Enable Signal Debugging in Journal (No)** - Enable detailed signal logging (can be used with other tools for EA or Signal Bot creation - will likely be a future development)

**Purpose**: Outputs comprehensive signal generation information to the Journal for troubleshooting and strategy optimization. Recommended to only use during testing as it generates extensive logs.
