Welcome to the Gold Reaper!

Build on the very succesfull Goldtrade Pro, this EA has been designed to run on multiple timeframes at the same time, and has the option to set the trade frequency from very conservative to extreme volatile.

The EA uses multiple confirmation algorithms to find the best entry price and runs multiple strategies internally to spread the risk of the trades.

All trades have a stoploss and takeprofit, but also use a trailing stoploss and trailing takeprofit to minimize the risk, and maximize the potential of each trade.

The system is build on the very popular and proven strategy: trading breakouts of important support and resistance levels.

Gold is very suitable for this strategy, as it is a highly volatile pair.

The system auto adapts the trade frequency and lotsize based on your accountsize and your max allowed drawdown setting!

Backtests show a very stable growth curve, with very controlled drawdowns and fast recoveries.

This EA has been stress tested for the longest available period for Gold, using multiple pricefeeds for various brokers, and nothing seems to be able to make it fail.

No "neural network/machine learning AI/ChatGPT/Quantum computer/perfect straight line backtests" sales-talk, but a real and honest trading system, based on proven methodology for development and live execution.

As a developer, I have +15 years of experience in creating automated trading systems. I know what has the potential to work and what has not. I create honest systems, with the highest probability of trading like the backtests without cheating.

NOTE TO GOLD TRADE PRO USERS:

Even though both EA's run similar strategies on Gold, the correlation between the two is actually very low.

Running both EA's together even shows a much stronger growth and this while the maximum drawdown stays about the same or even goes down in some setups! (see screenshot)

Backtesting:

Simply run on XAUUSD using default settings, or change the max allowed drawdown to your preference. You can also change the trade frequency manually to see the different results. Timeframe of the chart doesn’t matter.

Setup:

Run on XAUUSD and set your trade frequency (automatic by default), and your prefered max allowed drawdown.

Or set the trade frequency manually to your preference.

Timeframe of the chart doesn’t matter.

Parameters:

ShowInfoPanel -> display the information panel on the chart
Adjustment for Infopanel size -> in case of 4K display, set value to "2"
update infopanel during testing -> disabled for faster backtesting
Trade Frequency: allows you to use different setups from the EA, going from very conservative trading frequency to extreme trading frequency. By default, it is set to "auto", which means it will use the account balance, and the Max Allowed Drawdown to determine the trade frequency. When using "StartLots", you MUST set the trade frequency also manually!
Maximum allowed spread: maximum spread for pending orders to be allowed
Friday Stop Hour -> if you don't want trades to be hold over the weekend, set a value between 0 and 23. (25 means "disabled)
SetSL_TP_After_Entry -> enable only if your broker doesn't allow pending orders with SL and TP
Use Virtual Expiration -> enable only if your broker doesn't allow pending order with expiration date
Randomization -> this will randomize the entries, exits and TrailingSL values a bit, so that multiple users on the same broker, will have a bit different trades. Also good for prop firms. Good value is "50"
BaseMagicNumber -> the base magicnumber that will be used for all strategies
Comment for trades -> the comment to be used for the trades
Lotsize Calculation Method -> here you determine how the lotsize should be calculated: Fixed lotsize (Use StartLots), Or use the "Max Allowed Total Drawdown
Startlots -> set the value for fixed lotsize, when that option is chosen. This parameter will be used as "minimum lotsize" when using any of the other 2 options for lotsize calculation
Max Allowed Drawdown -> The prefered maximum allowed total drawdown (in %). The EA will then determine lotsize based on the historical max DD of the EA
Set Max Daily Drawdown -> Here you can set a maximum allowed daily drawdown (in %). If it is reached, the EA would close all trades and pending orders, and wait for the next day. This is usefull for prop firms
Use Equity instead of Balance -> use Equity of the account to calculate all lotsize values
OnlyUp -> this will prevent lotsize to decrease after losses (more aggressive but faster recovery after losses)
EnableNFP_Filter -> turn the NFP filter on or off
AutoGMT -> let the EA calculate the correct GMT offset for your broker, so that the time of NFP will be correct
GMT_OFFSET_Winter -> for setting the GMT Offset manually in the wintertime (when AutoGMT is off, or during backtesting!)
GMT_OFFSET_Summer -> for setting the GMT Offset manually in the summertime (when AutoGMT is off, or during backtesting!)
NFP_CloseOpenTrades -> force the EA to close all open trades when NFP starts (X minutes before NFP)
NFP_ClosePendingOrders -> force the EA to delete all pending orders when NFP starts (X minutes before NFP)
NFP_MinutesBefore -> how many minutes before the NFP event, to close trades and pending orders
NFP_MinutesAfter -> how many minutes after the NFP event, before the EA resumes trading again

IMPORTANT: For AUTO_GMT TO WORK -> you must add the URL "https : // www . worldtimeserver.com/" (remove spaces!!) to the "allowed URL's" in your MT4/MT5 terminal (tools -> options -> expert advisors)

I have had the Gold Reaper as part of my portfolio for a few months now. It works as expected and the live results are in line with the backtests, which I think is a very important point. In some reviews here people complain about the drawdown period of the EA in the last few months. While it is true that the EA has not performed very well for a few months, it has been clearly positive since the product was released. So I don't understand some of the reviewers. This is trading. If you want a regular income, go and buy some bonds. That is fine, but you might miss the opportunity for higher income if you just stick to your trading strategy for the long term. And this is possible with the developers (Wim) EAs like this one as shown on several of his live accounts. He is very helpful and responsive to all my questions (and patient!). If some people report a 50% drawdown in a few months, I recommend to check risk management. Because that is up to the user, not the EA. Personally, I use several EAs in my portfolio, so a drawdown period for one EA would not dramatically affect my overall portfolio. For this setup I can also recommend Wim's other EAs because they are not highly correlated. To sum up: Great EA, great support, great evolution of the strategy, so a strong recommendation from me.

I got the combo offer for the Gold Reaper and Gold Trade Pro. I started running them both in mid April on barebone stock settings. I set up a demo account with IC markets which is one of the developer's recommended brokers. Demo account with $1000 balance trading 0.01 lots. I did a backtest with $10000 from Jan 2021 to April 2024 also trading 0.01 lots. Backtest showed $1000 in profit over that period. I was underwhelmed by that but I thought in conjunciton with the other algo it will make some real money. On the demo account, the bot made 40% profit (+$400 on the initial $1000 balance) in about 2 weeks. I was impressed but decided to keep running it in demo as 2 weeks is too short of a period obviously. I saw some people leaving a review after running it for that much lol. Next time wait a bit more ;) For a month after the first two weeks nothing happened, the balance was slighly up and down but no major move. Then in month 2 things got hectic - the bot started losing, went down to $1200. Then it kept losing and on month 4 it got down to $800. That's almost a 50% drawdown. I decided to keep running it tho. Month 5 it got to $1200, then $1600. I thought maybe that's how it works so I kept running it. I actually forgot about it for a while. Then mid October which is exactly the 6 month mark I checked it again. It was at $900 from $1600. A bot that makes 30-45% drawdown swings every other month I can only call unreliable. The MyFXBook of the Gold Reaper also shows that same unreliability. True, it's an actual strategy rather than a martingale BUT I'm yet to see it make any consistent profit. Gold's been making all time highs since I started running this EA. If it's not making money now, when will it? I actually stopped it. I'm never giving it any real money. Not worth the risk. If I could, I would get a refund. Also prop firms - if you're thinking of using this EA on one - probably think again. Wim, no hard feelings mate. You give the impression of being a cool dude. Response time was always fast but I actually prefer a bot with 0 customer support that makes money over a fast response time for a bot which doesn't. Cheers.

While I agree on the fact that the last few months were tough, I believe in the longterm strength of the strategy. The EA has similar periods in the backtests, and has already proven that it can recover very quickly in a short time.
Also, I made various improvements to the EA, some of which have only recently been released. to see the effect of those improvements, we need a few months. I understand that most can not handle this type of longterm strategy, but I believe that in order to win in forex, it's the only way. I know this, because I've been doing this for +15 years and the only way I started to actually become profitable year after year, is by avoiding the nice straight line EA's, and using real systems only. they require a stronger stomach, but all I can guarantee that all the straight line EA's all end the same: margin call. Since you still have the bot and MQL5 does not offer refunds once a product has been used, I can highly recommend to keep running it on demo (live and demo results match almost 100%), so you can still evaluate the EA long term (check my live results by the end of the year as well..)
This EA has a lot in common with Goldtrade Pro regarding strategy. And Goldtrade Pro has already shown how it comes out of drawdowns blasting. And that one is still up 90% this year, despite several negative months this year. Gold Reaper will do the same

Hi, thx for the feedback. Were you running the "prop firm" set file on your prop firm? Because if it blew "very fast", I'm suspecting that you were running too high risk settings? While it is possible that the EA exceeds the prop firm's max drawdown limits if there is a really bad period, I don't believe it would be "very fast", but rather quite gradually, with more than enough time for the user to shut it down if max drawdown is getting close. I'm happy to look into your setup if you contact me in private, so I can figure out why your account didn't go as planned. I do agree that the EA is going through a drawdown period currently, but it looks like we are getting out of it now slowly.

Excellent support by Wim, he kept his word regarding the Free EA and also gave me the updated one as soon as possible after I asked for it. The EA is performing well and met my expectations. I highly suggest his EAs and hopefully he will keep supporting them and improving them for as long as possible!

Hello to everyone reading this review. I would like to say that I am very excited about the communication with Mr. Wim. He answers all questions in a friendly and calm manner. As I am new to trading with an EA robot, my questions were probably annoying. I have had the Reaper running for about 20 days now, and despite a bad series, I am up 6.7%. This week I also purchased Gold Trade Pro and received the rest of the EA for free. So now I have the Reaper/Gold Trade Pro/Daytrade Pro combo running for better and more consistent results. After a long examination of various EAs, this one seemed the most transparent and potentially profitable and consistent in the long run. I will update this review every 1-2-3 months and write about the progress of trading. I wish everyone a lot of success.

EA is good, I panicked in the beginning as i had a drawdown of almost -18% (using Reaper + GoldTradePro, medium risk), the recovery was quick and powerful, currently at 3% drawdown, i'm sure soon enough i will be in profits and the drawdown will be over, patience and emotional stability are required for Wim's EAs, don't judge too quickly.

It's worth mentioning that Wim (the author) is a transparent and honest person, he knows what he's doing and always supportive.

Update: i am currently in profit!

thx for keeping the faith! :-) My EA's are "real" trading systems, so they will have some drawdown periods sometimes. But I'm here and in the public chat, almost every day, to give my insights on the trading and on the performance compared to historical performance. Happy to have you on board for the longterm!

the bot is amazing, to be honest i didn't believe the EA in the beginning but i was wrong!!The EA is smart ne really profitable! You should try it guys! Wim is really helpful and really patience with all the customer respect mate and thanks again for the amazing job!

Acheter depuis plusieurs mois, Cet algorithme est rentable ! dévellopeur très sérieux et engagé, les risque sont très facilement réglable et dispose d'un Sl suiveur très bien réglé, je donne mes resultat depuis le 29 Mai 2024 dans les commentaire, sur mon compte réel 10 000€, ce robot à d'abord tourné sur compte démo et petit compte réel avant de passé à celui là et travail aussi actuellement sur challenge propfirm, je le conseille fortement, la stratégie est bonne !

The Author is nice don't get me wrong, but after a couple of months using the EA (low risks, 15% max dd with set files provided by the author) it's loosing money. Stay away.

I am using this EA since May 3rd. So far my account losing about 5%. In this same period, strategy tester also earn not so much. Other this EA holders are same result? or only me? Gold price was moved yesterday, but my EA didn't trade. Is this OK?

- Variable Values has been improved -> this means that the EA's capabilities to automatically adjust to the actual price of Gold has had a big update, and it now the recommended (and default) setting. This will adapt entries and exit to the value of Gold. So if gold is trading at 1000$, the SL for example will be smaller than if gold is trading at 2000$
- AdjustLotsizeToVariableValues -> this will make sure that if SL get bigger for example if gold price goes higher, that the lotsize will be adjusted as well (decrease) so that the actual potential max drawdown stays the same throughout all history and future with the same risk settings.
