Specification
VM1 is a simple EA that requires the following additions to allow it to back-test.
Create Daylight saving time inputs
.The current EA does not have the ability to change time based on DST. we need to create the
following input fields ;
DST Time Change /True/ false.
Start month _11_
Start Day __4
End month__4
End Day___3
Entry hour__
Entry Min__
Entry Seconds___
Exit hour
Exit min
Exit Seconds.
If DST time change is =true, on the start Month/Day entered, the EA will use this input time rather than the one currently available in the EA until the End Month/Day. otherwise it always uses the default time currently in the EA.
External Dates
.The current EA uses an "External Dates" text file to know which days to trade. The format of the file is
attached. It currently reads it from "MQL/ files" folder. During back test it should look for the file in
"Tester/ files" folder for the external dates so that back test can work.The logic has to be adapted to do
so.
External Dates. Delta.
In certain cases the external dates are wrong by 1 day. this due to time zone differences that go
across more than one day. To solve this problem we would like to add the following two input.
Use External Delta True//False
External delta/days __1__
the input can be +1 or -1.
Eg, if the input is +1. a date in the file such as 2019.02.20 will be
interpreted by the EA as 2019.02.21. weekends are not considered. just straight +1 day. -1
would be 2019.02.19.
Tests
The Developer will conduct a complete tests so to insure the resulting EA can back test, AND;
1-Trades according to the DST time change across the calendar dates.
2-Trades in accordance to external dates while back-testing
3- External Delta works as designed
4- That the entry and exit minutes and seconds are respected during back test.
