MQL5 / MT5 Expert Advisor Developer – Risk Management & Risk-Reward Optimization

I am looking for an experienced MQL5 / MetaTrader 5 (MT5) developer to make targeted improvements to an existing, fast-execution Expert Advisor (EA).

The EA is already functional and actively trades Gold (XAUUSD). The main objective is not to build a new EA from scratch, but to review the existing code and make a few precise improvements, particularly around risk management and risk-to-reward (RR) logic.

Current EA

• Platform: MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
• Language: MQL5
• Instrument: Gold / XAUUSD
• Existing EA with fast trade execution
• EA is already operational
• Strategy logic is largely complete

Main Problem

The main issue I need help with is the risk ratio / risk-to-reward management.

I need the developer to:

• Review the existing risk-management calculations.
• Check how lot size is calculated based on account risk.
• Verify that Stop Loss (SL) and Take Profit (TP) are being calculated correctly.
• Ensure the intended risk-to-reward ratio is correctly applied.
• Check that the EA handles Gold's point size, tick size, tick value, contract specifications, and broker digits correctly.
• Identify any calculation that could cause the actual risk to differ from the intended risk.
• Make the necessary corrections without negatively affecting the EA's existing execution speed or trading logic.

Additional Requirements

The developer should be able to:

1. Understand and work with an existing MQL5 codebase.
2. Make minimal, targeted modifications rather than unnecessarily rewriting the EA.
3. Preserve the existing entry and execution logic unless a change is specifically required.
4. Ensure compatibility with different MT5 broker specifications where possible.
5. Properly calculate position size according to the desired percentage/fixed monetary risk.
6. Correctly handle SL/TP distances and risk-to-reward calculations.
7. Test the modified EA using the MT5 Strategy Tester.
8. Provide a clear explanation of what was changed and why.
