Task is strictly limited to:
1. inspect existing code
2. isolate the exact root cause of one critical behavior
3. provide a written diagnosis first
4. implement a minimal fix only after approval

No rewrite.
No redesign.
No refactoring.
No optimization campaign.
No architecture change.
No new features.

Developers proposing reconstruction or major improvements are not suitable for this mission.
