Specification

Project Description:

I have an existing MT4 robot built with a custom indicator (source code in MQL4). I need several modifications to its trade entry and closing logic. Specifically, I require the following changes:

1. Trend-Following Entry Logic Correction:

  • Problem: The robot currently opens trades in both directions (buy and sell) regardless of the prevailing trend. This leads to undesirable behavior where, after a trend shift, the robot may fail to open new trades in the current trend's direction within a certain price range where previous trades of the opposite direction were opened.

  • Desired Solution:

    • The robot should identify the trend direction in a specified timeframe (e.g., H1).
    • The trend determination method will be provided (likely based on the custom indicator).
    • The robot should only open trades in the direction of the identified trend.
    • For example, if the H1 trend is down, the robot should only open short (sell) positions. If the trend is up, it should only open long (buy) positions.
    • The robot should continue to open trades in the direction of the trend at specified distances (in pips) from previous trades, even if trades in the opposite direction were previously opened within that range.

2. & 3. Trade Closing System Modifications:

  • Details of the two trade closing system modifications will be discussed in private (inbox). These are considered simpler modifications.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in MQL4 programming.
  • Experience modifying and debugging MT4 robots.
  • Strong understanding of trading logic and trend identification.
  • Ability to clearly understand and implement complex trading rules.
  • Good communication skills to discuss and clarify requirements.

Deliverables:

  • Modified MQL4 source code for the MT4 robot.
  • Clear documentation of the changes made.
