Must MT4 be open for MQL5 signal to receive trades?

Hi guys,

New to this, would appreciate some clarity.

I have multiple MT4 accounts which I do not keep open, but in which trades fall through my own integration from another app.

I have linked these MT4 accounts to provide signals on MQL5.

Do i have to open these MT4 accounts for MQL5 to register the trades?

Thanks!

No

Thanks Karim.

Unfortunately then my trades are not updating, not sure why.

Unfortunately that's the wrong answer.

Yes, your MT terminal must be open. How else is it going to place trades??

Your terminal DOES need to be active to receive signals to trade.  If you do not have them set up on your home computer, or do not want your home computer running all the time, you could set up a VPS and set it up to be your "terminal" and process the trades that way.
