New to Metatrader 4 --- Expert Advisor Question
The grey icon simply means that you only have the executable (.ex4) and not the source code (.mq4). You only need the latter if you intend to make changes.
You need a live account to trade real money. You don't need to buy the account - just move money into it.

Hi everyone, im new here to metatrader and systems trading in general. Have a few questions and would appreciate any help.
1) My question is regarding Expert Advisors, im currently trying to play around with the two custom EA's in the demo account -- they are called MACD Sample and Moving Average. I tried running them by clicking on the Start button under the strategy tester. They start off fine by soon get stuck at about 60% of the bar and the analysis is never completed. Can anyone tell me how i can solve this?
2) I also downloaded the Cowabunga EA from this site: http://thetrademachine.com/blog/2009/10/29/cowabunga-expert-advisor/. However, it turns out that the icon when viewed is grey instead of green. I understand this means the EA is not compiled properly? When i run it, it also gets stuck at 60%. Anyone here could tell me how to fix this?
3) Also, what is the difference between the demo account of metatrader 4 and the one you have to buy? I presume you can't trade live on the demo version?
