MT5 Build 6230 — Depth of Market windows become stuck and cannot be reopened for specific symbols

Platform: MetaTrader 5 for Windows, build 6230
Installation: Portable mode
Affected symbols: PETRJ430 and PETRJ415 (B3 options)

Problem description

The Depth of Market (DOM) windows for symbols PETRJ430 and PETRJ415 suddenly stopped appearing when opened independently. Both symbols continue to receive live quotes normally.

The problem affects only these two symbols. The DOM works normally for other symbols in the same terminal.

Observed behavior

  1. The DOM windows for PETRJ430 and PETRJ415 were working normally before the problem occurred.

  2. When I attempt to open either DOM window, the terminal reacts, but the independent window does not become visible.

  3. The Hide option in Market Watch is disabled for both affected symbols.

  4. The DOM can still be displayed inside the order window for the affected symbols.

  5. I discovered that manually setting the relevant IsVisible=1 entry in terminal.ini makes the independent DOM window visible again. I can then move and use the window normally.

  6. However, after closing that DOM window, I cannot reopen it through the normal MT5 interface. The symbol remains impossible to hide, and editing terminal.ini is required again to make the window visible.

Troubleshooting already performed

  • Restarted MT5 and Windows.

  • Tested with Dexpot disabled.

  • Renamed/recreated terminal.ini; this did not resolve the problem.

  • Confirmed that other symbols' DOM windows work normally.

  • Tested the same affected symbols in a separate portable MT5 installation, where both DOM windows open normally.

An additional MT5 installation running build 5327 also opens both affected DOM windows normally.

Expected behavior

The DOM window should open and close normally for both symbols. After closing a DOM window, it should be possible to reopen it, and the Hide option in Market Watch should return to its normal state when appropriate.

Request

Could the MetaTrader 5 development team please investigate this behavior and advise:

  1. Which internal state or configuration is responsible for the DOM window lifecycle and the disabled Hide option?

  2. Why does setting IsVisible=1 in terminal.ini restore visibility but not restore normal opening and closing behavior?

  3. Is there a supported way to reset the DOM state for these two symbols without resetting the entire terminal configuration?

I would appreciate a technical explanation or a fix in a future build if this is a terminal defect.

Do you have any idea how to reproduce that issue ? What happened or what did you do just before the problem occurred for the first time ?

Because I can't reproduce your issue.

Please post or send me in private your terminal.ini.
