How are you disconnecting Internet ?
If I disable my Ethernet connection, the backtest stops to work immediately (even without restarting).
Hi Alain, normal disconnect, just like you do: disabling the ethernet connection. Tester keeps on going, without internet, as long as it was started while internet was on (start means either from pressing Start button in Strategy tester /Settings tab, or via Ctrl+F5 from editor).
Moreover, even if I stop the tests (Stop), I can start however many I want, on either symbol, either EA, without Internet (same session), as long as I do not close MT5. As soon as I close it and reopen it without Internet, Tester will no longer start and display the log messages I mentioned in my post. If after reopening without Internet I turn on internet, MT5 reconnects to whatever its servers are and Tester can start. Tester is therefore conditioned by Internet connectivity check at launch. This is detrimental, as one may not have connectivity 24/7 and it's only recent (at least to my experience) this was added (or it is a bug), since in previous versions this was not the case (I could run MT5 and Tester without Internet anytime).
