Hi, Just as the title says is it possible to create an MQL5 file of an expert, I only have ex5 file which is also account restricted. The guy who gave it to me is no longer accessible. I know all the parameters on which the EA works, I want to try it on different accounts with different capital size & set files.
You might be able to recreate the strategy and write the code for a new ea, however, like the moderator said, "No" -- to "is it possible to recreate the mq5 file [from] a ex5 file".
And in the past just asking such a question would get the thread instantly deleted. but i guess it might still be deleted soon, once the moderator is sure that you have noted his reply.

The fact that it's an ex5 file and the fact that it's account restricted tends to indicate that it's a copyright protected work, else you would have an mq5 file and/or no account restriction.
If you have all of the input parameters and the EA uses common indicators, it could be possible to reverse engineer the EA─which is basically what Michael Charles Schefe said in Post #2. Depending on what the terms were at the time of your receipt of the EA, reverse engineering may nor may not be legal. For example, the mql5.com Market Rules expressly prohibit reverse engineering of Market products.
In several rare cases, I have been able to "reverse engineer" certain utilities based merely on chart images and the contexts in which they were posted, respectively─and only where legal. I put that phrase in quotes because how can I truly know that I have an exact replica of code that I can't inspect? All I know is that the charts appeared to be the same.
