Backtest/optimization details would be helpful as well.

When you mention system crash. do you mean MT5 crashes or the computer itself? The system always crashes when optimizing MT5 parameters.

A couple of years ago I had a an issue with my computer restarting during optimization. In my case it turned out to be a dodgy memory card.

Could be low RAM, could be weak CPU? who knows? posting your computer specs would help you get a better answer though.
