Warning: Beware of the "Partnership & Profit Split" Scam out of MQL5.com

Hello everyone,

While this topic may have been discussed before, I believe it's crucial to bring it up as often as necessary to protect our community. As creators and developers, our hard work, coding, and system optimization deserve to be rewarded with legitimate, transparent sales. We shouldn't have to constantly worry about scammers who use lies and tricks to exploit our dedication and desire for recognition.

I want to share my recent experience to warn others—especially newcomers—so you can avoid falling into this trap at all costs. These scammers disguise themselves perfectly as legitimate marketing agencies, making it easy to overlook MQL5's official warnings.

MQL5 Warning

How the Scam Operates: Step-by-Step

These scammers are very convincing and operate with a highly structured script. Here is exactly how they execute the fraud:

  1. The Initial Contact & Platform Shift: They usually reach out first via MQL5 direct message proposing a "collaboration". Almost immediately, they will ask to move the conversation to Telegram or another external app to avoid MQL5's chat monitoring. Once they move you off-platform, the original MQL5 messages might even be deleted.
  2. The "Pay-for-Results" Pitch: On Telegram, a "partner manager" will offer to bring you "solvent traders" using a risk-free, pay-for-results model. They don't ask for money upfront; instead, they demand a massive commission, usually around 50% of each sale they bring in.
  3. The Price Inflation Trap: This is the biggest red flag. Once you agree to the split, they will tell you your product is priced too low for their "elite clients." They will instruct you to drastically increase your prices or add exorbitant rental options (for example, asking you to set a 1-month rent to $1,000 or a 1-year rent to $2,500). They frame this as "expert marketing advisory."
  4. The Fraudulent Purchase & Crypto Demand: Shortly after you update the prices, a purchase is made. The scammer will then immediately message you, demanding you send their 50% share right away, specifically asking for the payment in Cryptocurrency.
  5. The Disappearing Act: The moment the transaction is flagged, or if you refuse to send the crypto before the funds clear your account, the scammer will completely delete their Telegram account, leaving no trace.

This is a money-laundering scheme. The purchases are made with stolen credit cards or illicit funds. If you send them the cryptocurrency, you will lose your own money when MQL5 inevitably reverses the fraudulent transaction, and you risk getting your developer account permanently banned.

Fortunately, MQL5 has strong security controls, such as the 7-day withdrawal hold and automatic account locks to verify suspicious transactions. If it weren't for these automatic blocks, it would be much harder to catch these thieves before it's too late.

My recommendations for all developers:

  • Never leave the MQL5 ecosystem: Keep all communication inside the official MQL5 chat. Scammers avoid official channels because they know they are monitored.
  • Never inflate your prices on demand: Do not change your prices or add massive rental fees just to secure a supposed sale from a "marketer." Genuine buyers evaluate your system based on its real merit, not artificially inflated price tags.
  • Never pay commissions upfront: Do not ever transfer cryptocurrency or funds to a third party for a sale that has not fully cleared the MQL5 7-day holding period.
  • When in doubt, search the forums: If an offer feels too good to be true, search here. You will likely find that others have already reported the exact same script.

Let's protect our hard work. Stay safe out there and trust MQL5's official warnings!
