For sure. One of the best ways to learn MQL5 is to manually "convert" a utility from another language. That usually involves researching MQL5 code elements as you code MQL5.
Also, exposing yourself to public scrutiny is a good way to voluntarily hold yourself accountable. As a side note, every trader should mention all live trades to one trusted person─even if that trusted person is not a trader. There is no better reality check on the trader's activity.
