I have encountered similar situations multiple times, where trial access was requested, but after providing it, the job order was removed without any follow-up.
Please describe the method by which you provided trial access.
There are many ways to do so─each having its own level of security.
It's possible that some potential customers are "getting the milk without buying the cow."

I provide the trial using a simple and secure system.
The EA is locked to a specific account and broker, and the trial duration is set to 7 days using server time.
When the EA is first installed, it records the start time. Each time it runs, it checks whether the trial has expired.
Once the 7-day period is over, the EA will automatically stop working.

I only provide the compiled .ex5 file, which means the source code is not included and remains fully secure.
In that case, everything sounds secure─assuming that your potential customers are not memory dumping/hackers.
Presumably this is happening in the Freelance service and not in the Market, so you're codifying their ideas/concepts. There is always the possibility that their ideas/concepts are ill-conceived, and that they can only discover this fact after you provide them with a trial product that they can backtest. At that point, they would acknowledge having committed GIGO (garbage-in, garbage-out) and abandon the job.
