MT4 1470 and 1471 crashing when broker creds are entered

I have been using up to 1441 without much issue and those instances of MT4 are still working.

Yesterday, I installed MT4 1470 and 1471 on Windows 10.0.19041.6456 pro from easy forex and IC Markets, both open normally on a fresh install in a new folder, when I add the broker creds and click login the terminal makes the sound, as if connected to the broker server, then instantly closes.

Any further attempt to open terminal experiences the same issue, terminal opens, attempts to connect to broker server and closes. If i remove servers.ini the terminal will stay open but doesn't attempt to connect to the broker.

Only occasionally does event viewer catch an error, I have attached them in a txt file.

If anyone could give me some advice to get MT4 working it would be much appreciated?

The problem is probably on your side. You can easily find out by using MT4 1470 and 1471 on another PC/VPS and if there is no problem then you already know that the problem is with your PC/VPS with Windows 10.0.19041.6456

Have you asked your broker for help? they are your first point of contact. Officially, mq does not give any support for mt4 for years and years now; brokers do.

 

As you've probably already worked out, it was just me being a moron, all working now with a reboot.. 

I really didn't want to reboot because i was 20 days into an optimisation.
