Hello,
I'm trying to calculate the minimum amount to open a position in some assets and I can't find the formula.
For example, I have $10,000.00 and I want to divide it into two equal parts to invest in two different assets. What is the maximum lot size I can buy for each?
Taking EURUSD as an example, if I open a position of 0.01 lot, at the current price the margin used is $32.10, so I get $5000/32.10*0.01 = 1.55 lot.
Same thing with silver, but the margin used is $249.96, so $5000/249.96*0.01 = 0.20 lot.
So, the question is, where do these margin values, $32.10 and $249.96, come from?
