Why did MT3 and MT4 crash?

I am using the lastest builds for MetaTrader 3 and MetaTrader 4. Do you know of any other causes of this like not enough RAM, too many other programs running, etc? I have 256K of RAM.

MT3 and MT4 price quotes stopped moving (froze) for 10 hours while I was asleep (and my MT3 and MT4 programs are with different brokers, so it could not be due to the brokers servers being down). In the morning I re-booted my computer and the price quotes started moving again. I had 4 other programs running when it happened including Outlook Express email program. How can I stop this from happening again? Any ideas to stop this from happening again, ie boost RAM, close all open programs except for MT3 and MT4, etc. ?
