How EA licenses work during hardware upgrades
Pejman Alanjari: Anyone knows if purchased licenses are attached to CPU or system memory? I would like to update few components of my server and I want to know how I should do it to avoid losing current attached licenses.
Probably will not be possible to prevent loss of activation. The license depends on many factors and even some Windows updates cause activations to be lost.
It might not be lost with a change in RAM, but a change in CPU will most certainly cause the loss of an activation.
