Running mt4 in portable mode

Hi, my C: drive is almost full and when I tried to download historical data there isn't any space left. I want to run the mt4 using portable mode and found a good how to instruction in here. In the video the app data folder is copied to a new folder, from this point there's 2 app data one in the original place and the second one in the new folder. Since there's 2 app data can I delete the old original data folder or cut the data instead of copy?
